Clean with Saline Solution

Saline solution that can be bought at pharmacies can be the most effective to use in cleaning navel piercings. It should be used as a cleaner at least two to three times per day. And just like every wound, wash your hands before cleaning it.

Use just enough Saline Solution with Dixie cups; always use a new one each cleaning session.  Lay flat on a surface with the cup upside down on your belly, in this way, the saline will get through the piercing thoroughly. After that, you can use a Q-Tip to go around the holes of the piercing and your belly button as well. This process should be done in a bout a month or so, depending on the state of your piercing.

Never use anything but the Saline Solution and any prescribed medications.

Always remember to not touch the piercing with your bare hands.

Wear loose clothing

Since a new piercing can be very sensitive, it is recommended that you wear loose clothing to avoid irritation of the wound or any infections that can happen. Clothing has direct exposure to anything dirty, and so, if your dirty clothes are too tight and have contact to your wound, it may cause complications.
